II.                 PUBLIC COMMENTS

Please Note: Any person wishing to address the Board must be recognized by the chair of the meeting and shall state for the record her/his name and address, or, in the case of an employee or business representative, her/his affiliation and position.  All comments shall be addresses to the chair and shall be limited to not more than three minutes.  Decisions of the chair concerning the recognition of individuals and rules of order are final. While the Board does not wish to impinge upon free speech protections, it must be noted that the “Open Forum” is not intended to be an opportunity for every person to express an opinion on every matter.  It is not the time to register complaints about individuals or items that have not first been addressed to appropriate staff and administrators.  In addition, any remarks that might be considered defamatory or stigmatizing are prohibited, and will be declared out of order by the president or the chair of the meeting.

 

 

 

III.             SUPERINTENDENT’S RECOMMENDATIONS

 

A.                 Personnel

 

1.  Secondary School Principal

RESOLUTION:          BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, and pursuant to Education Law and in compliance with Part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents and contingent upon Part 87 Commissioner of Education Regulations on fingerprinting clearance requirements, provide a probationary appointment to ______________ as a Secondary School Administrator in the tenure area of School Administration effective July 26, 2004.  _____________ holds a valid NYS Certificate in School Administration and upon approval by the Board of Education, shall be hired with a probationary period to begin on July 26, 2004 and extend to __________. It is further recommended that during his/her first year of employ, _____________ be remunerated at a salary of $_______________ prorated.

 

                        2.         Nicole Lindeman, Mentor Program Coordinator

RESOLUTION:          BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education approve the appointment of Nicole Lindeman to the position of Mentor Program Coordinator for the 2004-05 school year effective July 26, 2004.  Remuneration for this position shall be per the contract currently in effect between the District and the Brittonkill Teachers’ Association.

 

 

                        3.         James Garvey, Assistant Modified Football Coach (Resignation)

RESOLUTION:          BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education accept the resignation of Mr. James Garvey from his recent appointment as Assistant Modified Football Coach for the 2004-05 school year effective July 14, 2004.

 

 

                        4.         Coaching Positions

RESOLUTION:                      BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education approve the appointment of the following individuals as  2004-05 Winter Sports Coaches contingent upon Part 87 Commissioner of Education Regulations of fingerprinting clearance requirements:
