            h.         Michael Harkin, Probationary Physical Education -- APPOINTMENT

RESOLUTION:         BE IT REOLVED, that the Board of Education, pursuant to education law and in compliance with part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents approve a probationary appointment of Michael J. Harkin to the position of Physical Education Teacher, effective September 1, 2005, and contingent upon Part 87 of Commissioner Regulations on fingerprinting clearance requirements.  Mr. Harkin holds permanent certification in the area of Physical Education, k-12.  Because he has been tenured in another public school district, it is recommended that Mr. Harkin’s probationary period extend from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2007.  It is further recommended that he be remunerated at the Masters level 12: $48, 414.

 

i.                     Mary Beth Becker, Transfer to English

RESOLUTION:         BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education grant tenure in the area of English to Mary Beth Becker, who is voluntarily transferring to the English Tenure area.  This appointment will not affect her seniority in the previous tenure area of Foreign Language.  Ms. Becker holds permanent certification in the area of 7-12 English.

 

j.        Karelia Balazs, Probationary Spanish Teacher—APPOINTMENT

RESOLUTION:         BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, pursuant to education law and in compliance with part 30.3 of the Rules of the Board of Regents approve a probationary appointment of Karelia Balazs to the position of Foreign Language Teacher in the area of Spanish, effective September 1, 2005, and contingent upon Part 87 of Commissioner Regulations on fingerprinting clearance requirements.  Ms. Balazs holds provisional certification in the area of Spanish.  It is recommended that Ms. Balazs’ probationary period extend from September 1, 2005 to August 31, 2008.  It is further recommended that she be remunerated at the Masters level 5: $39,771.

 

k.         2005-2006 Extra & Co-curricular Positions

 

RESOLUTION:         BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, approve the appointment of the following extra-curricular and co-curricular activity advisor for the 2005-2006 school year.
