FLAG SALUTE            President Abate called the public meeting to order at 8:06 PM and began the meeting with a salute to the flag.

SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT

The Superintendent reported that curriculum would be the focus of the upcoming Conference Day on January 29, 2007. He also informed the Board that BDEP will be meeting on February 13, 2007 and Art Pritchard will be there to act as facilitator.

                                    The Board of Education, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, extends the appointment of the following individuals as mentors in the Brunswick Central School District from ˝ year to full year.  Remuneration shall be per the contract currently in effect between the District and BTA.

                                    The Board of Education accepts, with appreciation, a donation from the Brittonkill PTSA in the amount of $1,500 to be used to fund the “Principal’s Fund”. The monies are to be divided evenly among the three schools ($500 each) and distributed at the Principal’s discretion for miscellaneous expenses.

BOARD DISCUSSION

 

The Board discussed the creation of the 2007-2008 Budget Booklet. The following Board members agreed to assist in the formation of the booklet and will meet one time in February and three times in March:

Discussion was held as to the status of the Shot Clock Operator and Time Keeper positions tabled at a previous meeting. The following resolution was placed on the table.

                                    The Board of Education approves the hiring of Shot Clock Operators and Time Keepers for the Boys and Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity home Basketball games. The stipend for these positions will be $25 per game.
