Tamarac’s Food Services are committed to providing nutritious meals for Tamarac students each and every day to help ensure they’re ready to learn in the classroom. Parents are reminded that breakfast is available for all students as soon as they arrive at school for $1. Lunch costs $2.85.

Brunswick CSD is proud to announce our partnership with Capital Roots, an organization that aims to “reduce the impact of poor nutrition on public health in New York’s Capital Region by organizing community gardens, providing healthy food access, offering nutritional and horticultural education for all ages and coordinating urban greening programs.”
By teaming up with Capital Roots, our schools will be now be using locally sourced produce in our cafeterias! The organization will also be helping us teach our students more about nutrition through the use of “food educators” and educational opportunities.

Did you know your children may be eligible for free meals at Tamarac schools? We encourage all parents to examine the federal income guidelines listed below to see if their children qualify for the completely confidential Free and Reduced Price Lunch Program. A Free and Reduced Meals Packet is available here… Lunch application packet must be completed each year and handed in by mid-September or earlier.The free or reduced status of the previous year carries over for the first month of school, but will end by September, therefore, a new application MUST be completed each year.If you’re concerned about your children’s privacy and worry their classmates may find out they’re receiving discounted meals, the program is set up so no one will know your child is receiving these discounts.
