Tamarac Class of 2016 alum, Christopher Kneer attends SUNY Delhi for Residential Construction/Construction management. During his junior and senior year at Tamarac High School, Chris attended Questar III’s Rensselaer Educational Center (REC) for Construction Technology. This program helped solidify his interest in construction.

“Each class taken at Tamarac High School provided essential backgrounds in the general education classes I have taken in college,” said Chris. “The math classes in particular as math is woven into all areas of this field.”

During the Fall 2017 semester at Delhi, Chris was part of a Construction Management competition team.  They had to create blueprints, estimates, and schedules for an actual home that will be built later in 2018 in Wisconsin.  This team went to Orlando, FL in January to present the plans at the 2018 NAHB International Builder Show.  The Delhi team came in first place.  As winners, their plans will be used to build the premier house in Wisconsin.

Chris recommends that any student interested in this field consider attending the Construction Technology program at REC.  He also says that pursuing part-time or summer jobs within residential construction is a great learning opportunity as well as attending college.

Congratulations Chris! We love hearing from alumni! Have an interesting Career? Amazing Adventure? Please email
