Last fall, fifth grade students participated in a “Be Awesome Day” to help create more positive interactions between students. During this day, students’ role played, participated in team building activities and worked on conflict resolution/communication skills.
Ever since that day, fifth grade students are recognized for being; respectful, responsible, problem solvers, be safe” on the “Be Awesome” wall created by fifth grade teachers. The idea came from Kid President, a kid actor who has several YouTube videos about this topic.
“We want to focus on positive qualities and we encourage students to put up sticky notes recognizing how others are awesome,” said fifth grade teacher Marie Klaiber.
