More than 500 middle and high school students from across the state attended the annual New York History Day competition in Cooperstown on April 29. The students represent top-performing entries from 12 regional contests.
Tamarac had 13 students that advanced to the state level. One group Carter Casey, Jackson Domurad, Tyler Filarecki, Adam Fountain and Liam McDonough received the Fenimore Art Museum Award: for an outstanding entry focused on the history of New York State. In addition to a certificate, they received a cash award.
