Members of National Junior Honor society organized a holiday service project for the entire 8th grade. During the month of December, students purchased and wrapped a number of Christmas gifts to donate to six local children in need. They were determined to provide everything on the children’s wish lists, including clothing, toys and other gifts. The enthusiasm and generosity that the kids displayed with this project was incredible. They were so excited each day as the piles of gifts began to grow under the tree in my classroom. It was a wonderful reminder to the kids each day that the power of giving is greater than the joy of receiving.
