Tamarac OM Team Finishes Fifth in World Finals

The Tamarac High School Odyssey of the Mind team placed fifth for their problem in Division III in the 2019 World Finals of the Odyssey of the Mind competition.

Team members Mackenzie Barcomb, Grace Bartow, Jackson Domurad, Marisa Gosselin, Katie Kazunas, Allie Motzer, Michaela Pomposello and Dr. Sam Micklas – founder of Odyssey of the Mind.

The event took place at Michigan State University and featured more than 900 teams from all over the world. This year’s fifth place finish is the best finish for Brunswick CSD in 10 years of participation in the creative problem-solving competition.

In the world finals, teams that finish in fourth, fifth or sixth place are announced and stand to be recognized during the ceremonies.

In addition, Tamarac High School’s team won the Omer Award at the State Competition and the coveted “Renatra Fusca” Award at the regional competition. The “Renatra” is the highest recognition of creativity in the Odyssey Program.
