Letter to Parents from Principal Pogue – 5/1/19

Dear Parents and Guardians

Today at Tamarac Secondary School, students alerted staff that there was a post on social media that was being rapidly shared amongst students. As per District protocols, The New York State Police and Rensselaer County Sheriff’s office were immediately notified. The situation was fully investigated by law enforcement and staff, and it was determined that this was a previously investigated recycled rumor that is now being being shared on social media.

We ask that parents review their child’s social media accounts to make sure they are not sharing this false rumor.

Please know that safety is of the utmost importance at Brunswick Central School District and we take all threats very seriously. We are grateful for the cooperation and assistance of the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police. Additionally, unrelated to this, there will be U.S. Marshals and other law enforcement at the Secondary School on Thursday, May 2nd for the scheduled Naturalization Ceremony that is taking place in the District Auditorium.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Richard Pogue
Secondary Principal
