Tamarac High School and Siena College have partnered to create an innovative program for high school students to secure enrollment in any bachelor’s degree program at Siena as soon as their freshman year at Tamarac based on their past and projected academic performance.
To apply, students need to submit their transcript, write a brief essay requesting consideration for the opportunity to the Tamarac High School Counseling Center and must be on track to complete a required number of academic units in English, social studies, mathematics, laboratory science, and language.
In addition, Tamarac and Siena will also work together to present a series of workshops at the high school for all students, regardless of their college choices. Topics will include financial aid, the college application process, making campus visits and more.
The agreement was signed by Brunswick Superintendent Dr. Angelina Maloney and President of Siena College Br. F. Edward Coughlin. Also present was Associate Director of Admissions Jim Eaton and Tamarac High School Principal Richard Pogue.
Students who are accepted to the program will not be required to enroll or to forgo application to other schools; rather they will be able to secure their admission and reserve a place at Siena.
