As a graduate of Tamarac, Class of 1995, I attended a small college in Bennington, Vermont called Southern Vermont College. Upon graduating, I received a Bachelors in Science in ChildCare Management.
What is your background like – previous jobs?
After graduating college, I was offered a head teacher position at KinderCare Learning Center in Albany. As I became more familiar with the school and my position, I was able to apply to become the assistant director and finally the director of KinderCare. I truly loved working with children and after my children were a little older, I knew I wanted to go back to work and do something that I loved. Thinking of where I wanted to continue my work experience, I knew Tamarac was where I wanted to be. In 2013, I started working at Tamarac as a substitute teacher. This summer I applied to become part of the Tamarac family and I am really excited to work with an amazing staff and a great group of students.
Tell us about your family?
I know I might be a little biased, but I truly have an amazing family! I have been married to my husband, Les, for 10 years. We have a daughter named Cynthia, she is in 4th grade and also another daughter named Giada, she is in 2nd grade. My girls both attend Tamarac Elementary. The girls keep us busy with soccer, basketball, dance and all their other after school activities. My family would not be complete without my wonderful, supportive parents, who I am lucky enough to live close to. I also have one brother, two sisters and 11 nieces and nephews (five of which attend Tamarac). Without the support of my wonderful crew who continue to be there for my husband, my girls and I, no matter when or where I need them, I could not continue to do what I love.
What are your interested outside of school?
My absolute favorite thing to do is spend time with my family. Now that the girls are getting older and a little braver, we enjoy going to Six Flags, go for a bike ride and even though we don’t do it as much as we like, go to state parks and see the wonderful scenery of New York. Another thing we enjoy is attending sporting events here at Tamarac or wherever our nieces and nephews may be playing. Last thing we look forward every week, is our weekend dinners with our families. Normally it is Saturday dinner with my mother and father in-law and Sunday dinner at my parents house.
