To the families of Tamarac Elementary School,

I hope this email finds you well as we head into Labor Day weekend.  It has been a fairly hectic week as we are getting ready for the start of the new school year.  This year will not look like any other school year - we've never started a school year with both remote and in-person instruction, never had the restrictions and regulations of COVID-19 protocols, and we have never had the uncertainty in schools that this pandemic has brought us. Please know that we share the concerns this year brings, and we are trying to address them as responsibly, and safely, as we can.

We look forward to the start of this school year - this is what we do, and working with your children is what we are all about.  Our school community is resilient, resourceful and committed to your child's education, in whatever shape it takes this year.  No one wants our school to look like it does, no one wants to wear a mask while we are here, and no one is looking forward to school day absent of all the physical and emotional exchanges that make a school a school.  But we are looking forward to seeing your children again, and to picking up where we left off last spring.  Let's go out and make it a great year!

Sincerely,

Rich Pogue
