Dear Secondary School Families:

Happy Tie Dye Friday! I hope everyone is adjusting to the time change last weekend. I definitely noticed the effect that one hour less of sleep has on students. It reminded me of the importance of teenagers getting a good night’s rest.  According to the CDC, children 6-12 years old should be getting 9-12 hours of sleep and high schoolers, 8-10 hours daily. A study shows that 57% of middle school students and 72% of teenangers do not get enough sleep on school nights. Sleep deprivation can have very adverse effects on learning and teen health. Interesting research for every parent and guardian to be aware of:,10%20hours%20per%2024%20hours.
