To the families of Tamarac Elementary School

The Tamarac school wide Art Show on May 18 was a great success!  It was so nice to see all of the families who came to the elementary school to view our students’ beautiful artwork.  Thank you to Mrs. Tybush for all of her hard work in molding these young artists, as well as for setting up the student displays all around the building.

Another big thank you to our PTSA for introducing our book vending machine to students with a ribbon cutting ceremony during the Art Show.  A number of excited students entered a raffle and winning students were able to select a book from the machine!

Spring has finally arrived and Tamarac Elementary School is looking forward to some fun events!

  • Our second graders will be taking a field trip to MiSci on Monday 5/23.  This is a momentous occasion as it is our first official field trip in 2 years!

  • The Elementary Grades 3-5 Spring Concert will be held on Monday 5/23 at 7 PM in the district auditorium.  Student performers should arrive by 6:40 PM.  Select choir members should arrive by 6:30 PM.  We hope to see you there!

  • Our PTSA is hosting “A Night at the Movies” on Thursday May 26, 2022 at Hollywood Drive-In.  Gates open at 7:00 PM for an 8:30 PM showing of The Secret Life of Pets.  Registration is required.  Please see the Brittonkill/Tamarac PTSA Facebook page for more information.

We would also like to remind families that school will not be in session Friday May 27th and Tuesday May 31st in addition to the Memorial Day holiday.

A note from our high school Life Skills Team on The Lost and Found Project:

The Lost and Found Project was a success. We are continuing to run it for one more week and then we will begin boxing the unclaimed items to be brought to Unity House and any other local organizations that are in need of children’s and teen’s clothing. The amount of clothing that we gathered, washed, tagged and displayed reached into the high 300’s. We will be doing this project again next year and will be discussing how to improve it, from the organization to the website set up. Thank you to everyone that reached out to us to claim an item. If you know that your child has lost something, but you don’t see a picture of it, please just send a description and your child’s name and grade and we will look for it.

Thank you,

The Life Skills Team

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who came out and voted last Tuesday night. There was a very nice turnout of district voters in support of the district budget and in support of returning BOE members. This is a very important night in the life of a school district, and the community's continued support of our efforts is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely, Kelly Onorato and Rich Pogue
