BRUNSWICK (BRITTONKILL) CSD 2018-19 SCHOOL BUDGET APPROVED

The Brunswick (Brittonkill) Central School District $24,577,667 budget was approved by a vote of 358 (yes) to 127 (no) on May 15. This budget will result in an estimated 2.82% percent tax rate increase for residents.

Residents also elected three members to the Board of Education, Andrew Casale (384 votes), Anthony Grab (374 votes) and Danielle Roadcap (write-in candidate with 153 votes). Thank you to everyone in our community who took the time to vote!

BOARD OF EDUCATION ADOPTS 2018-19 PROPOSED BUDGET

The Board of Education adopted the proposed $24,577,667 school budget for 2018-19 school year at their meeting on Wednesday, April 12. The proposed budget requires an estimated 2.82% increase in the tax levy, which is below the district’s property tax cap of 5.66%. Voters will also be asked to elect three candidates to the Board of Education. Andrew Casale and Anthony Grab have each declared their candidacy. The third BOE seat will be filled by a write-in candidate. The polls will be open on Tuesday, May 15 from 8 am to 8 pm in the multipurpose gymnasium at the Secondary School.
