To the families of Tamarac Elementary School,

I hope this letter finds you all well and healthy, especially healthy, at this time. The challenges of teaching through this pandemic are dominating our thoughts here. Our biggest goal is to keep our building open for in-person instruction; it is the way we want to be teaching. Staying open, though, depends on everyone doing all they can to keep themselves safe and everyone around them safe. Our COVID protocols remain in place; I couldn't be prouder of our students and our staff as they observe our mask protocols and physical distancing day in and day out. The kids, though, are the real stars. I'm so impressed when I walk into a classroom, and I see them and hear them hand washing, masking up, staying on their "dots" in line and all the other things that are key to keeping us safe. When I think back to September and the start of school, I was afraid the students would be a weak link in all the safety protocols we needed to put into place; turns out, they are the strongest link.

We continue to monitor our students and staff, hoping to keep our building open. Please, if you suspect anyone in your household may be sick or potentially exposed to COVID, do not send your children to school until you know for sure. We can handle absences if you are erring on the side of caution. We need you to do the right thing. If this past week taught me anything, it's that quarantines or remote instruction stints aren't easy on anybody (my daughter (finally) started talking to me again last night after two days this week of my "quarantine help"). We want to be here, we want to teach your children in-person, we want to stay open - please help us with this goal.

Finally, the following is from the Brittonkill PTSA.   4th Annual SOUPer Bowl with a twist!
For the past 3 years we've all come together to make this happen. It's a wonderful way to feed and thank our Tamarac Faculty and Staff. With COVID restrictions, we needed to think outside of the box to continue this great tradition. Instead of asking you to make soups, chilis, and snacks - we are asking you to Sponsor-A-Teacher/Staff members lunch! Leave them a custom message and thank them for all they do. We have teamed up with B-RADS Bistro to provide individual meals to our teachers and staff on Friday, 2/5/21.Help us reach our goal to feed everyone! Share w/ friends and alumni! Current and former students and staff- let's show our Tamarac Team some love. More information can be found at: https://brunswick.memberhub.store/store/items/665259
