The Brunswick Central School District, in partnership with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, is pleased to announce the appointment of Deputy Anthony Pasinello as the district’s new School Resource Officer (SRO). Deputy Pasinello brings extensive law enforcement experience and a strong commitment to youth mentorship and community safety to the district.

“Deputy Anthony Pasinello brings the professionalism, judgment, and commitment to community that we look for in a School Resource Officer. The SRO position is about much more than providing security—it is about building relationships with students, earning their trust, and serving as a positive and dependable presence within the school community. I am confident Anthony will represent the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office exceptionally well in this important assignment, and I look forward to seeing the relationships he builds with students, staff, and families,” commented Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault.

Deputy Pasinello has a long history of positive engagement with local students and school staff. His background includes participating in elementary school field days, career days, and gym classes, as well as supervising school events like senior day activities. Additionally, he has engaged directly with administrators and parents through PTSA meetings and administrative sessions across Tamarac Elementary and Secondary Schools.

“Deputy Pasinello stood out as having strong tactical proficiency as a school resource officer, as well as a genuine desire to support our school community. I think he will be a wonderful resource to students, staff, and families from grades PK - 12, and I look forward to welcoming him in September,” said Elementary Principal Kelly Onorato.

In addition to his law enforcement background, Deputy Pasinello has served as a youth sports coach for approximately 13 years, including the past five years with the Brunswick Little League. As a parent of three children, he brings a well-rounded, personal perspective on parent concerns, safety, and school culture.

Brunswick Central School District Board of Education President, Ryan Goodenough said, “On behalf of the Board of Education, I want to express how pleased we are to have Deputy Pasinello step into the role of School Resource Officer. This appointment represents a strong continuation of our partnership with local law enforcement, ensuring our students and staff have the secure, supportive environment they deserve."

"My goal as a School Resource Officer is to serve not only as a law enforcement presence, but as a mentor, educator, and trusted resource for students and staff," said Deputy Pasinello. "I believe proactive engagement, visibility, and relationship building are the most effective tools for maintaining a safe and positive school environment."

Deputy Pasinello’s focus will remain on safety, de-escalation, conflict resolution, and building strong, trusting relationships across the entire school community. On behalf of the entire Brunswick Central School District, we are thrilled to officially welcome Deputy Anthony Pasinello to our schools and community.
