Tomorrow is a half day for all students due to Staff Development. Tomorrow is also WEAR RED for Big Red Day for the district and Disney Spirit Day in the Elementary School.


The Board of Education Meeting will take place this evening in person in the Secondary School LGI and will also be Live Streamed on our BCSD YouTube page starting at 7 p.m.


Brunswick CSD will operate on a two hour delay today, Wednesday, January 24th due to inclement weather and travel conditions.
Elementary: The Elementary School will follow the normal two hour delay schedule. Transportation will be provided.
Secondary: Only students taking the College Physics Semester Exam, Algebra I or US History exams will report to the Secondary School today. Exams will be administered starting at 11 a.m. and students should plan to attend 15 minutes prior to the start time. Students may take regular 2-hour delay transportation to Brunswick CSD prior to their exam. Afternoon transportation will not be provided. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Tonight's Home boys basketball games are canceled. Tonight's wrestling match in Cobleskill will be rescheduled to Thursday, January 25th at 6 p.m.

A reminder for next week's schedule!


Mrs. Danckwerth's Public Speaking class recently celebrated by hosting a mock wedding for their final. Students were asked to write a speech for the bride and groom and deliver it in front of the 'bridal party'. They enjoyed dressing up, a wedding cake, decorations and bubbly drinks in the LGI.

The Art of Adulting class received presentations from Meghan Johnson, a Broadview representative, over the past few weeks in the LGI.
The course 'Build a Better Budget' brought about discussion on how to build a budget that balances current needs and wants along with a foundation for financial independence and future goals. Identify budget techniques and methods and explore ways to manage spending and saving in relation to current income, categorized expenses, mindful spending, record-keeping, and organizing money.
The following weeks presentation was 'Understanding and Managing Credit' and brought about a discussion on how financial decisions made today can greatly impact the future and how to manage credit responsibly, how to obtain credit, and the meaning of credit scores and credit reports.

Due to the predicted weather conditions at dismissal, Brunswick CSD will have early dismissal today, Tuesday, January 16th. The Secondary School will dismiss at 12 p.m. The Elementary School will dismiss at 1 p.m.

A reminder that there is no school tomorrow, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Secondary School conducted its third required lock down drill of the school year. The drill was conducted in collaboration with the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office and Troy Police Departments. It was held near the end of period seven lunches in order to provide a learning opportunity for students and staff. A commendable job was done by all.

Mrs. McKenna's high school Russian students visited Mrs. Willimott's 4th grade class to teach them about Russian Christmas which was on January 7. They colored Russian ornaments - traditional Matryoshka dolls. They also brought over some cards made by Mrs. McKenna’s students with words of encouragement for the fourth graders.

Key Club is hosting a blood drive with The American Red Cross on Thursday, February 1st from 7:30-12:30 in the multipurpose gym. Students that are 16 must pick up a permission slip from me to be signed by their parents in order to donate. Anyone 17 and older can register to donate and do not need a permission slip.
