Dear Secondary School Families:

We are pleased to share the first quarter honor rolls lists for Tamarac Secondary School. Students who earned an overall average of 89.5 - 94.4% in their coursework qualify for the honor roll and for the high honor roll if they have obtained an average of 94.5-100% (with no incompletes or grades lower than a 75% for high school students). Congratulations to all on this outstanding accomplishment!

Honor Roll - Quarter 1

Class of 2024 Yearbook: Attention Class of 2024 students and parents/guardians. Don't miss out on the opportunity to have a personalized baby message in the yearbook.  Families can design their own 1/8 page of the yearbook on the Jostens website.  There are over twenty formats to choose from.  Your message can include a picture or even two pictures.  All messages cost $35.  Messages are being sold until early February but there are a limited number of spots. You can design your message at      jostensadservice.com/student

Free Breakfast and Lunch: Brunswick Central School District is pleased to announce that all students will be able to receive a free breakfast and lunch meal at school beginning when school reopens on January 2, 2024. This implementation is a result of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)expanding access to the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). CEP allows eligible

schools participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs to offer

school meals at no charge to all students. Here is some additional information for families:

  • From now until January 2, 2024 meal costs remain the same (breakfast $1.25 & lunch $2.95).

  • All previous charges still apply and must be paid in full

  • The free breakfast & lunch daily is for a  reimbursable meal only, which means for each meal students must take at least 3 food components (one must be a fruit or vegetable).

  • The free program does not include a la carte items, snacks or just milk etc. Students are required to receive the full meal.

  • Students receiving free breakfast and lunch will still need to check out at the register.

Winter Sports Spectators: An important reminder to parents/guardians with winter sports underway. Middle school students attending athletic events must be supervised by a parent or guardian. Due to safety concerns, student spectators must remain in the gymnasium throughout the event. Students found wandering hallways or in unsupervised spaces will be asked to leave and may lose privileges to attend future events.

2024 January Regents Schedule: Please note that classes will not be in session on Tuesday, January 23 (Regents Day). Only students taking an exam will attend school. Wednesday, January 24 will be a half day of instruction with dismissal at 10:32am. Additional information regarding the January administration of Regents exams will be shared after the holiday recess.
