Today we are wrapping up National School Counselors Week. This is a recognition of the vital role that school counselors perform in schools to support social-emotional growth, college and career readiness and student achievement. We are very fortunate to have four incredible counselors in our district!

2024-2025 Master Scheduling: I am excited to share with you the 2024-2025 course selection guide for Tamarac High School. As you review our program with your child, please note that there are new classes being offered in our Business and Science departments next year. There are also music courses that are offered every other year. We have a robust menu of college level courses we offer in partnership with UAlbany, Russell Sage, Siena College, HVCC, SCCC, and Cobleskill.

Students are encouraged to see their teacher if they have specific questions on a course being offered before meeting with their counselor!
Timeline for when students will be meeting with their counselor to select their courses:
Current 11th graders: February 27 & 28
Current 10th graders: February 29 & March 1
Current 9th graders: March 4 & 5
Make up days: March 7 & 8
Spring Athletics: It’s almost hard to believe, but it’s time to start thinking about spring athletics. FamilyID sign-ups for Modified/ JV/ Varsity Spring Sports will open up on Monday, February 12th. Please reach out to Mrs. McKeon or Mr. Miner in our athletic office with any questions. The link to FamilyID can be found on the front page of the district webpage.

Counseling Center: A reminder to families that our Coffee with the Counselors program is upcoming on Thursday, February 15. Tamarac Middle School Valentine’s Fun Day: Hosted by Tamarac’s SADD, Middle School students need a permission slip from their parents/guardians signed BY February 12th. Tickets are $5 to the event.
Lost and Found: Since coming back from Christmas break, the Life Skills students have gathered many new clothing articles from the middle/high school and the elementary school. Please check out the Lost and Found website to see if your child's clothing is on there. We will get it back to them right away.
