HopeClub

The HopeClub at the American Cancer Society is a special place with an incredible mission! The HopeClub housed 550+ supporters group meetings this past year alone, has various community rooms, a children’s club, a teen center, a wig and hat center, a kitchen, a family playground and so much more. They arrange treatment transportation, host all kinds of activities on-site such as recreational activities like reiki, canasta and so much more! You can not help but feel Evan’s spirit at work there.

The Tamarac basketball program presented a check for $21,117 to the organization for their 2023-2024 #foreverfranzy Coaches vs Cancer donation.

The ForeverFranzy featured 25 varsity boys basketball games and 9 JV games over the course of four days - 52 school districts participated in the event.

John Franz, Evan’s dad, was joined by Tamarac Senior Captain Adam Rice and Head Coach Eric Medved to make the presentation to Marisa Georgelas and Lizzie Hunter of the American Cancer Society.

Thank you to everyone who helped make our 2023 contribution possible through their volunteerism and next year we have set our goal at $25,000! Please contact Coach Medved if you’d like to join us in the fight against Cancer! Please email emedved@brunswickcsd.org for more information.
