A reminder that tomorrow, November 10 is an Emergency Drill/Early Release for all students. The secondary school will be dismissed at 2 p.m. with the elementary school being dismissed at 3 p.m.

Today is the last day to sign up for sports on Family ID! Any secondary student who doesn't have a required physical for either grade level or sports will be having that physical by the school MD on Wednesday, November 9th. Last day to submit a physical done by a personal physician is tomorrow.

Winter Sports Sign-ups are nearing the finish line! Please register on FamilyID by Monday November 7. Varsity & JV Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 14. Modified Sports for Grades 7 & 8 will begin on Monday, November 21.
The school district doctor will be on-site the morning of Nov. 9th to complete physicals. After Nov. 9th anyone needing a physical will need to schedule their own with a health care provider.

HVCC Instant Admission Day was held in our Counseling Center yesterday. Our students learned about HVCC's diverse academic programs and an Admissions Counselor helped them through the enrollment steps.

Junior and Senior Spanish students attended a field trip to Russell Sage recently. The students receive their language college credits through Sage and were invited to attend a session with admissions and take a campus tour.

In an effort to ensure we have the most current contact information possible for our families and staff members, on Tuesday evening, November 1, 2022, the Brunswick Brittonkill Central School District will run a test of the School Messenger Emergency Notification System. Any parent or staff member that does not receive the test robocall, text and email should alert our communications specialist so we can update your contact information accordingly. This system is used for all District emergency communications, including school closures, delays, and more.

Tomorrow is Pep Rally Day for Homecoming in the High School. Parts of the day will be celebrated outside. Please make sure the HS Students are dressed for the chilly weather. It will be about 60 degrees. Some students may feel that they need a coat, gloves, or a blanket.

The elementary and secondary buildings will be conducting their first lockdown drills this morning. There will be a heavy law enforcement presence for this purpose. The drill has been announced to faculty and staff ahead of time to prepare students for what to expect.

Winter Sports Sign ups are now open! Any interested student wishing to try out for a winter sports team should go to Family ID on our website. The deadline is Nov. 7th.

New York State requires that students in seventh, ninth and eleventh grades as well as any student new to the district have a physical. A copy of this physical must be on file in the Health Office. If your child has not had a physical AFTER September 3, 2021, one must be submitted or they will be scheduled for a physical by the school physician.
We are anticipating our school physician to be doing physicals here the first week in November. We will schedule your child for a school physical if we don’t receive a copy of a current physical by October 31, 2022. It may be easier to have the doctor fax it to us at the fax number listed below.
