Stay warm out there! ❄️ With temperatures dropping to dangerous levels this week, we want to make sure every student stays safe and comfortable. 🚌 A Note on Your Commute We know how "brutally cold" it’s going to be, so we’re adjusting our approach to keep you out of the wind chill: * Wait Inside: Please feel free to wait in your home or a warm car instead of standing at the curb. * We’ll Wait for You: Our drivers have been instructed to allow for extra time at each stop. They will keep a sharp eye out for students heading toward the bus from their front doors or vehicles. * Stay Visible: As soon as you see the bus approaching, give a quick wave or start heading toward the stop so the driver knows you're ready! 🧤 Safety Reminders * Layer Up: Wear a heavy coat, gloves, and a hat that covers your ears. * Watch Your Step: Be careful of "black ice" on sidewalks and bus steps. * Cozy inside: while we have warm temps in our buildings, we would never shy away from suggesting bringing an extra sweatshirt with you (just in case). * Recess: Elementary students stay inside for recess when the temperature drops below 20°. While we encourage fresh air and exercise, we want our students and aides to be safe in the cold.
