We want to let our families know that Tamarac Secondary held a scheduled lockdown drill with the assistance of law enforcement today, Thursday, May 4th. The drill was completely precautionary and provided us with an opportunity to practice keeping our students and staff safe in the event of an emergency.

Tamarac Secondary School Library is having a Scholastic Book Fair. There are two ways to shop!
In-person
The Book Fair will be in the middle school library from May 15th - May 19th. It will be open during lunch and study hall for browsing.
The bookfair will also be open during the Art Show on May 16th. Come as a family to check out some books.
Students can bring cash, credit card or check (made out to Brunswick CSD).
Scholastic is now offering a new, cash-free payment option called eWallet, making it easier for kids to buy books! This is a secure, cash-free way to shop the fair. Simply create a free account, pre-authorize a spending limit, and have funds immediately available. https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/content/fairs/ewallet.html
Online:
Support our school by shopping at The Scholastic Store Online. All orders ship home and book-only orders over $25 ship free. Every purchase benefits our school and helps develop a love of reading! Visit https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/tamaracmiddleschool

Update: The police are in charge of the investigation and working with the parents of the student involved. The student in question will not be present at school and extra law enforcement will have a presence on campus as an additional safety measure.

We have received information regarding a picture circulating social media. We take these situations very seriously and will follow the lead from law enforcement. Our SRO is currently working with administration and Rensselaer County to investigate. Thank you to all who have shared this information so we can investigate as quickly as possible.
