Mrs. Onorato hopes to see you at the Brunswick Community Library next week for a story!

Dear Brunswick CSD Families and Community,
Happy First Day of Summer Recess! Although school is on recess our campus is very busy with exciting transformations across our campus.
I am pleased to share an update on the Capital Improvement Project, which has officially shifted into high gear this summer. As of July 1, the entire district has become a busy construction site, filled with the activity of crews, equipment, and major upgrades designed to enhance the learning environment for all Tamarac students.
What’s Happening?
Over the past several weeks, contractors have been hard at work across the district. Here are some of the highlights from our latest progress report:
• New Stadium Field and track: Groundbreaking began in late May, and although the weather caused some delays, the site contractor is working extended hours to stay on track. Drainage structures are expected by mid-July.
• Boiler and Mechanical Work: Boilers in both the Elementary and Middle/High Schools have been drained and disconnected, with demolition underway to make room for updated, more efficient systems.
• Ceiling and Lighting Work: In the Elementary School, drop ceiling removal began in classrooms and electrical upgrades have begun.
• Asbestos Abatement: Safe removal of materials is ongoing in the secondary school.
• Roofing: Nine truckloads of roofing material were delivered in late June, and roof safety measures are now in place as demolition begins.
• Bus Garage Upgrades: Temporary fuel tanks have been installed, and demolition of the old system is underway to make way for improved fueling infrastructure.
• Bus Garage Upgrades: Temporary fuel tanks have been installed, and demolition of the old system is underway to make way for improved fueling infrastructure.
• System Upgrades: New fire alarm systems, clocks, and public address (PA) systems are being installed throughout the district to enhance communication and emergency response. In addition, a new security camera system is being implemented to improve safety, increase accountability, and support the efficient operation of our schools.
A Campus Under Construction
Due to the scale of construction across all district buildings and grounds, visits to the school campus are by appointment only. This is to ensure everyone’s safety while we undergo these significant facility upgrades.
• REGISTRATION: If you have any questions regarding registering your child, please contact Carol Petersen at 518-279-4600 ext. 2607.

Looking Ahead
We’re proud of the progress and deeply grateful for your support of this project. The improvements underway will have lasting impact. I appreciate the community for prioritizing safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, and the overall educational experience for our students.
Thank you for your continued patience and partnership as we modernize our schools. We can’t wait for you to see what’s taking shape!
