It's that time of the year - the spoons in the freezer, flushing ice cubes and turning pj's inside out. Make sure you are in the know when there is a weather related delay or closure. Check out ways to get notified here: https://www.brunswickcsd.org/page/schoolclosings
When the time comes and you don't get a notification, please make sure your students school has your most up to date contact information.

The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) has designated November 6–10, 2023, to be National School Psychology Week (NSPW), with the theme “Let’s Grow Together.”
Brunswick Brittonkill CSD would like to take a moment to recognize our Tamarac Secondary School Psychologist Ms. AnnaMarie Bertrand and Tamarac Elementary School Psychologist Mrs. Jennifer Ellerbrock. Thank you for your dedication to our Bengals and their families.
School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically. They are also important members of school safety and crisis teams. As stated by Dr. Andrea Clyne, President of the National Association of School Psychologists, “School psychologists bring a rich and unique set of skills to their school communities. They are champions for children, families, and schools, working hard to apply their knowledge about mental health, learning, equity, and systems to address challenges that thwart progress.”

This is a reminder that on Thursday November 9, 2023, we will conduct an emergency early release drill. All schools in New York State must complete an emergency early release drill, once per year, that requires schools to evacuate students and staff at least 15 minutes before their regular dismissal time. This drill helps prepare us in the case of an emergency that would require us to transport our entire district home or to another location prior to the end of the school day.
For the secondary school, dismissal will be at 2 p.m. For the elementary school, all students taking the bus will be released/dismissed by 3:10 PM. We will start dismissal earlier for our aftercare and pick up students (around 3:00 PM).

A reminder that tomorrow, November 7th, is a staff development day and will be a half day of classes for students.

The fluffy cuteness keeps coming! Ruby came to visit Mrs. Quackenbush's class today!

Please note that due to an accident in front of school on Route 2, this may delay our bus runs for both secondary and elementary students. We will send updates as needed. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
