The elementary select choir went to WMHT today to record a segment for their program “Music for the Holidays.” Their performance will be available to watch on TV, as well as on streaming platforms. Airing dates/times TBA.

This is a reminder that on Friday November 8, 2024, we will conduct an emergency early release drill. All schools in New York State must complete an emergency early release drill, once per year, that requires schools to evacuate students and staff at least 15 minutes before their regular dismissal time. This drill helps prepare us in the case of an emergency that would require us to transport our entire district home or to another location prior to the end of the school day. For the secondary school, dismissal will be at 2 p.m. For the elementary school, all students taking the bus will be released/dismissed by 3:10 PM. We will start dismissal earlier for our aftercare and pick up students (around 3:00 PM).

Our 5th grade hosted a special presenter, Megan Maloney, from Broadwiew FCU. Through a fun Kahoot game, students learned about the importance of understanding money, spending vs. saving, donating, loans, and much more!
With Halloween around the corner, Deputy Loeper visited Mrs. Zakrzewski's class to talk about Halloween safety and read the book ' The Little Old Woman Who was not Afraid of Anything'.

The Work Based Learning Group has been very busy gathering all of the lost clothing items left near the elementary gym and the middle school cafeteria. They have washed and hung the items and will be tagging them and getting them on the Lost and Found website later this week and into the following week. The New York State School Boards Association recognizes October 14-18 as School Board Recognition Week. This is a time to promote awareness and understanding of the important work performed by local school boards. Public schools form the bedrock of our communities and our country.
